The Story of More Me Co.
Hey there!
Welcome to the More Me Co. Blog!
I started this journey simply trying to figure out how I could feel more like myself after becoming a mom and stop putting myself last on my to-do list. I quickly realized after doing some research and creating my content that I was on to something that may be beneficial to other women like myself. So I decided to create More Me Co.
The name More Me came from my desire to simply have more of myself in my own life. We are the main characters of our life and I was not acting like it in mine. I knew I needed a shift.
Since I earned the title of Mom four years ago, I felt my identity outside of motherhood getting further away from me and felt lost in who I was. I was so engulfed in taking care of my daughters and the house and everything else that often falls to the moms, that I even started realizing I wasn’t taking care of myself. Like at all. I mean I’d try to force in a short 20 minute Peloton ride during nap time or read a few pages of the latest Emily Henry book before collapsing into bed at night, but that was just not cutting it.
I wanted some guidance, some community, something or someplace that understood where I was and could help me get to where I wanted to be. I found others who were doing similar things or addressing bits and pieces of what I was feeling, but not in one place. I thought maybe I could use my experience to create something that encompassed it all in one spot. But then the doubt set in. I was pretty sure moms could find the information somewhere else already and that no one would want to listen to what I had to say because I wasn’t some expert.
Then remembered a quote I had heard before (though I can’t remember from who); “There is only one of you so the way you're going to do something is uniquely yours - it's never been done before or can't be done that way by anyone else.”
And it’s true.
Sure the information and insight that I share here within More Me Co. isn’t brand new or from some newly done expert research of my own, but I’ve pulled it together in a way that only I can. I’m adding what I’ve learned from an experience that is uniquely mine and sharing it in a way that is in my own voice.
So there you have it. Who knows if this little piece of the internet will impact anyone, but I felt the need to put it out there in hopes that my experience and way of doing something that allowed me to feel more me will make you feel more you.
Till next time,
Shannon
